Recognised worldwide as the foremost Original Duffle Coat, Gloverall has gained Iconic status as a design classic. Playing a part in fashion and culture through the last sixty years, Gloverall draws on it’s Military and Industrial Heritage to be one of the most respected and loved Britsh Brands. A balance of tradition and modernity reflects through our coats with manufacturing in England and our newly introduced collection Made in London, England. In the fifties, Gloverall created what is know as todays Duffle Coat, with a check back double faced fabric, horn toggles and leather fastenings. Many companies try to emulate and copy but there is only one and that is the Original Gloverall Duffle Coat.
This highly anticipated Andy Warhol “Camouflage†Exhibition was created by taking photographs of camouflage fabric, cutting the patterns into layers and then screening them onto canvases. The “Camouflage†exhibition is on view until February 5, 2010 at Honor Fraser in Los Angeles.
I’ve been tweeting all day about Michael Jackson. I’ve asked people if they thought “Thriller” would be played 100,000 times tonight throughout the world (Saturday, October 30, 2010); everyone thought the count would be closer to 500,000 or 1,000,000. Although people don’t often discuss him as such, Michael Jackson is the King of Halloween. He loved the holiday. If you’ve never seen his movie “Ghosts,” you need to. Although the film and the song both weren’t huge hits, they demonstrate his deep passion for the supernatural, obviously best exhibited by “Thriller.” The song, the outfit, the dance will forever reign supreme on Halloween. No matter where you might be in the world, it is highly unlikely you will not see a Michael (or two or three or four) on Halloween. “Thriller” Mikes, “Billie Jean” Mikes, “Black or White” Mikes, “The Way You Make Me Feel” Mikes, “Bad” Mikes, “Remember the Time” Mikes, “This Is It” Mikes, and so many more. Afros, jheri curls, blow outs, dark skin, light skin, whatever it may be, a blind man would know what costume you had on. Michael was the most famous recognizable person on planet Earth. He still is. So wherever you may be tonight and tomorrow, put on “Thriller” and sing it loud.
I’ve chosen this particular clip of rehearsals for the “Thriller” video because it tuly shows Michael’s innate gift of dance. Listen to what the choreographer says. It’s so true.
If anyone has any video footage of Thursday’s show at Roseland, please send a link. It was a little to crazy to even describe. The energy was simply out of control – a straight party the entire night. Much love to Deadmau5 for sharing his incredible crowd with me, and special thanks to the Retro Kidz and Greg Nice for their cameos.
The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889, but in 2010 it came to life. VIP Room’s owner Jean Roche celebrated his birthday with N.E.R.D. and myself during Fashion Week. The streets were alive and the party people were indeed Hot N’ Fun. Oh, what a night!
I’m sure everyone has seen this already, but just in case you missed it like did, watch it. As you know, the musical guests on SNL normally perform on the house band’s set, making what Kanye did even that much more awe inspiring. Amazing.
